The Hotel Panorama Royal was opened on 13 June 2003 with 43 rooms, 2 seminar rooms and a small wellness area.

The journey is the destination
Originally from a residential building background, I fell in love with the property on which the Panorama Royal now stands. Geomanticists recognised that the property was a measurable place of energy and power, but no flats were allowed to be built here and a hotel was approved. So I became a lateral entrant and ‘hotelier late bloomer’.
I had a plan drawn up of what a hotel could look like on this special site and set it as a screensaver on my PC. With the plan in mind every day, my dream slowly took shape until I followed my inner voice and opened a small hotel, the Panorama Royal, in June 2003.
With a clear vision, a great deal of commitment and passion, a wellness and relaxation hotel was created step by step, which is now one of the best hotels in Europe. However, not many people shared my belief in long-term success and so there were only a few loyal companions who overcame numerous hurdles with me and helped to clear many pebbles out of the way. The hotel grew with every difficulty solved and it felt really good to keep going.
I realised that a hotel needs uniques and a philosophy that employees and guests can orientate themselves by. Our natural uniques include the marvellous location and the power places on which the hotel stands. These were complemented by our unique concept ‘Our Way of Healing’, which is based on the values of drawing energy and vitality, achieving serenity and equanimity, radiating joie de vivre, living mindfulness, feeling regeneration and living sustainability.
Far Eastern knowledge, which I was able to learn and experience from the monks in the Shaolin monastery, among others, also had a major influence. So it made sense to combine millennia-old knowledge with Western practices in order to harmonise body, mind and soul.
As a former building contractor, it was always very important to me to push ahead with visual and structural development, as I am convinced that beautiful and dignified hardware is necessary for an appealing ambience and is an important criterion for guests and employees. Special attention was also paid to the training and further education of our employees, who play an important role as co-hosts. Each of them is part of our philosophy, which is also reflected in the way we treat our guests.
From the very beginning, every step we have taken has been based on our motto ‘Source of energy, strength and joie de vivre’. Our motivation is for every guest to feel this philosophy and to go home with energy, vigour and joie de vivre after a stay at the Panorama Royal.

2006
Das Hotel Panorama Royal wurde am 13. Juni 2003 mit 43 Zimmern, 2 Seminarräumen und einem kleinen Wellnessbereich eröffnet.
2009
A spacious new building in 2009 more than doubled the bed capacity, created a magnificent park with a pond and swimming pool, extended the panoramic terrace, expanded the wellness area and opened seminar rooms including a banqueting hall for around 250 people. A car park deck was also built.
2012
In order to meet the high demands of our wellness guests, we expanded the sauna village in 2012 to include 9 saunas, a separate nude area including a freshwater whirlpool and a cold water pool. These construction measures laid the foundation for our holistic health concept with a focus on ‘spirituality’.
2013
In 2013, the spa area was expanded again, including the meeting place, changing rooms for external guests with alpine shower, 4 relaxation rooms with different facilities, 6 treatment rooms including a sound room, Rasul bath and soft pack lounger. A gym and meditation room was also built. This remodelling and new construction also resulted in an enlargement of the panoramic terrace and the restaurant area. The entire building was also subjected to a re-lounge.
2015
In 2015, the main building was merged with the new building, which was constructed in 2009. This created 2 new WOW Suites Zi 303 and 304 including the Royal Suite 201 as well as the spacious Spirit & Healing Centre, which was enlarged again in 2016. As part of this work, the east-facing façade was also renovated and a roof was added. The rooms on the ground floor were fitted with a balcony and air conditioning was installed in the south-facing rooms in the new building. A separate staff room was also built.
Our spirit philosophy was honed at this time and the ‘Our Way of Healing’ concept was developed. 2016
In 2016, the Panorama Bar was rebuilt and remodelled, more than doubling its capacity. These construction measures separated the bar from the lobby, enlarged the reception area, remodelled the entrance area and created a stylish smokers' lounge. The Lounge Royal was also enlarged and redesigned and the reception, bar and Lounge Royal were equipped with air conditioning. In addition, the laundry room was enlarged, equipped with new appliances and converted from hire laundry to in-house laundry. We also implemented our energy concept this year and installed a BAKW. In addition, we were able to purchase a plot of land, which meant that we were able to plan an extension.
2017
Planning was completed in January 2017 and the ground-breaking ceremony for the new spa house with 11 WOW suites, sky terrace, natural cinema with library, spa lounge and 13 treatment rooms, saltwater pool and place for regeneration took place in May. The opening took place on 21 Dec. 2017 and with the merger of the two buildings, the terrace was also extended and the restaurant significantly enlarged. With the construction of the SPA house, extensive adaptations were made to create a uniform appearance. In this context, the meeting place was also enlarged and an outdoor restaurant area was created. The rock pool was also completely redesigned, including the sanitary facilities.
2018
In 2018, geomancers discovered new power spots around the Heart Stone, on the Sky Terrace and at the outdoor meditation area. In addition, a saltwater whirlpool, beautiful relaxation areas and recreation zones were added to our park. The ballroom was also renovated and a small indoor playroom was created for young and old.
2019
In 2019, the restaurant was extensively remodelled, dividing the restaurant areas into niches. In addition, the entrance area to the restaurant was redesigned and the restaurant bar was rebuilt. Furthermore, our Lounge Royal was converted into a Gourmet Royal and the south-facing rooms in the main building were equipped with air conditioning. As a result of these measures, we have received numerous awards. A la carte: 2 stars, Falstaff: 2 forks, Gault & Millau: Best Half Board Connoisseur Circle: 3rd place among the most beautiful wellness hotels in Austria
2020
In 2020, we had to close our hotel from 15 March to the end of April and in November and December due to coronavirus. We used this time to carry out numerous renovations and improvements. These included: Breakthrough in basement 1 and construction of a shopping mall, redesign of the place of regeneration with an effect fireplace, expansion and renovation of the wine cellar, renovation of the Our Way of Healing path, expansion of the laundry room, new construction of the reception, complete renovation of rooms 400 - 700 (except rooms 704 and 708), new construction of the Ayurveda centre. In addition, a large area of land was purchased to extend the hotel complex
2021
In 2021, we had to close our hotel twice again due to coronavirus and also used this time for renovations, which affected the following areas: Redesign of all treatment rooms with Ayurvedic equipment, redesign of the natural cinema and relaxation rooms, new kitchen, redesign of the swimming pool, redesign of the meeting place, renovation of the sauna village, redesign of the ballroom and seminar rooms, Refurbishment of the satellite kitchen, refurbishment of the rooms in the main building, extension of the gym with new equipment, new entrance to the Spirit and Healing Centre, reorientation of the hotel cosmetics with Pure Green natural cosmetics, new construction of 2 WOW Penthouse Suites Room 704 and Room 708. In addition, the concept planning for the hotel extension was realised and received the rededication from the state of Tyrol. Son Daniel takes over management duties and has joined the management team. We received the Connoisseur Circle Award: 2nd place among the most beautiful wellness hotels in Austria.
2022
On 13 March 2022, the unthinkable happened. A major fire in the sauna area resulted in the total destruction of the sauna and relaxation world. A life's work was destroyed overnight and the hotel had to be closed for several weeks. During this time, we realised that anything can happen in a crisis. EVEN THE GOOD. We were able to start rebuilding in mid-April.
2022
On 16 September 2022, the time had finally come. Our new sauna and relaxation world was officially opened.
As a result of the new wellness area, we were honoured by Connoisseur Circle as one of the most beautiful wellness and relaxation hotels in Austria.

Our sauna, relaxation and water worlds have more than doubled in size, making them one of the largest and most impressive wellness and relaxation hotels.
A high-end Relax Dream World with numerous retreats and relaxation areas, 3 additional saunas and a spacious water world with an outdoor saltwater whirlpool, indoor saltwater relaxation pool, outdoor freshwater whirlpool, indoor freshwater panorama pool and an outdoor relaxation pool connected to the indoor pool has been created on more than 7,500 m2.
A 25 metre sports pool with timekeeping and a cold water pool were also built. The whole thing was integrated into a marvellous park with an ornamental pond. We have also opened our gourmet restaurant ‘Atelier Freund Schafft’ and a medical spa under the name ‘Schönheit Royal’.
